Spanish side will be too strong for Portuguese

Sevilla are veterans of the Champions League and will be travelling to Portugal to face Braga on Wednesday night not simply hoping for a win, but expecting one, at odds of 6/4 (BetFred).

The Portuguese side are 21/10 at BetFred and were convincing 3-0 winners at home against Scottish side Celtic in the last round, although they will not have faced a side with the quality that the Spaniards possess in a long time and victory could be beyond them.

It will be interesting to see if Luis Fabiano, 11/2 at Victor Chandler to open the scoring, plays as that would make him ineligible for another club in Europe this season, which would surely mean that he will remain at Sevilla.

Even if the Brazilian striker doesn’t play, Alvaro Nergredo (6/1, Victor Chandler) and Freddie Kanoute (6/1, Victor Chandler) are more than capable of scoring against Braga and can ensure that Sevilla leave Portugal with a vital away goal.

Braga showed last year in the Portuguese Liga that they are a tough prospect on home turf and so should be able to get at least one themselves, which makes an even money quote from William Hill that both teams score a very good price.

A draw, at 23/10 with Stan James, looks a fair result, although if you fancy a tie it makes sense to back 1-1, at odds of 11/2 with Victor Chandler, as it is very unlikely that neither time will find the net and 2-2 draws are very rare in top level football.
